We were commissioned to design the single artwork for Rose Gold by Headie One, with a brief centred around creating something instantly recognisable, minimal, and iconic.
The core direction was open but focused: the artwork should revolve around either roses or gold bars, leaning into symbolism rather than narrative-heavy imagery.
The final concept merges both ideas through a tightly arranged grid of rose-gold roses set against a solid black background. The roses were treated with a metallic finish, giving them a sculptural, almost jewellery-like quality. This approach allowed the artwork to feel luxurious and refined, while still carrying emotional weight. Roses traditionally symbolise value, love, and legacy, and by rendering them in rose gold, the image subtly reinforces themes of worth, success, and elevation without being literal or over-designed.
Composition was kept deliberately simple to ensure maximum impact across digital platforms.
The centred arrangement creates balance and symmetry, while the absence of additional graphic elements allows the artwork to stand confidently on its own. This restraint was intentional, ensuring the cover would feel timeless rather than trend-led, and instantly legible at small sizes across streaming services.
The outcome was a strong visual identity that complemented the record without overshadowing it.
The single went on to be featured as Track of the Day on Capital XTRA, with the artwork translating seamlessly across promotional placements and digital platforms. The simplicity of the concept, paired with its strong visual clarity, helped position Rose Gold as a distinctive and memorable release.
