We were commissioned by Columbia Records to design the cover artwork for Packs and Potions, a breakthrough release by Hazey.
Alongside the cover art, we also developed Hazey’s logo, creating a cohesive visual identity that could scale across digital platforms and large-format advertising.
The creative direction focused on restraint, clarity, and presence.
Rather than relying on heavy visual effects, the artwork centres around a strong photographic composition that reflects the tone and intensity of the record. The imagery conveys anonymity and focus, aligning with the mood of the track while allowing the artist’s identity to feel intentional and considered. Typography was kept minimal to ensure impact at all sizes, and the logo was designed to be bold, adaptable, and easily recognisable across future releases and promotional materials.
The artwork was built as a flexible system, ensuring it performed consistently across streaming platforms, social media, and out-of-home placements. Particular attention was given to contrast, legibility, and balance, allowing the design to translate seamlessly from small digital thumbnails to large billboard formats.
Packs and Potions went on to achieve BRIT Certified Silver status, with over 200,000 units sold in the United Kingdom.
The artwork appeared on billboards nationwide and played a key role in the visual rollout of the release. Our work on the project was recognised with a BRIT Certified Silver plaque award, marking a significant milestone for both the artist and the campaign.
